Feed Suet All Year Long

Feeding suet can be a year-round activity. It is fun and exciting to see the different kinds of birds that can be attracted by providing suet. Wild Birds Unlimited's suet is a high-energy fat substance produced from a high quality beef kidney fat, which is high in calories. Birds that eat suet will still find natural food sources such as insects, insect eggs and grubs to get a well-rounded diet.

WBU suet is rendered to help remove the impurities that can cause spoilage.

Suet and suet dough allows you to feed the birds year round. Suet is used during cooler weather. In warmer weather suet doughs are designed with a higher melting point.

The variety of suet flavors help to attract a variety of birds. It is especially helpful to birds when their natural food source is hard to find (during winter months) or when the birds are nesting and raising their young. It is fun to watch birds bring their young to suet feeders in the summer months.

Since suet can be messy, try freezing it putting it in the feeder. This will make the cake contract, allowing it to fit in the cage more easily, reduce waste and help keep your hands clean.

We have quite a few varieties, so keep trying them out until you find the most popular for your backyard. Naturally Nuts®, Peanut Butter'n Jelly® and Nuts & Berries are among the most popular.

Say Hooray for PB&J Suet

Peanut Butter'n Jelly® Suet mimics the old childhood favorite, but without the sticky after-effects. The peanut butter appeals to birds that like insects and nuts, while the "jelly" (blueberries) attracts fruit-eating birds. Woodpeckers, chickadees, nuthatches and others enjoy this high-energy food. All of our suet and No-melt doughs are rendered and refined to remove impurities that cause spoilage.

Let Your Birds Go Nuts

Our Naturally Nuts® Suet is loaded with lots of yummy nuts, and birds such as woodpeckers, chickadees and nuthatches love to eat it. Offering suet at a backyard feeding station is also a great way to attract a wide variety of insect-eating birds. All of our suet is rendered and refined to remove impurities that cause spoilage.
